  • Single crochet stitch.

Pattern Description:

Includes one PDF file on 10 pages with all the instructions needed to make your own small sitting toy bunny with straight or floppy ears.

Pattern is written in English, using US crochet terminology. I included detailed instructions, many step-by-step photos and useful tips and tricks.

In this tutorial I will explain starting a piece with an adjustable loop (magic ring), starting an oval piece with a chain, finishing a piece, joining pieces, knotting and hiding yarn tails. Pattern includes unlimited support from me via email.

For a little preview, take a look at the first three pages -

You can use the same pattern to make smaller or larger toys by using finer or bulkier yarns. Make sure to pick a crochet hook at least a size smaller than suggested on the yarn label and crochet tightly enough to achieve a tight gauge that will not allow the stuffing to show through the fabric.

Sizing / Finished Measurements:

  • 11 cm (4 1/3"), without ears, with DK weight cotton and acrylic blend and a 2,75 mm crochet hook (US size 2/C).
  • 8,5 cm (3 1/3") with sport weight cotton and acrylic blend and a 2,25 mm crochet hook (US size1/B).

  • Yarn. I used DK weight cotton and acrylic blend, 50 g = 120 m (50 g = 131 yd) / 8 ply / 11 wpi. You will need about 35 g or 84 m (92 yd) of yarn.
  • 2,25 - 3,25 mm crochet hook (US size 1/B - 3/D) or according to the yarn.
  • Polyester fiberfill, wool, wadding etc. for stuffing.
  • 9 mm (1/3") safety eyes or buttons, beads, felt etc.
  • Cotton embroidery floss.
  • Yarn needle, scissors, stitch marker.
  • Ribbon, matching thread and sewing needle.

Suggested yarn:

84 meters of DK weight

Preferred Brand/Yarn:

Washed Haze DK
