You can use the same pattern to make smaller or larger toys by using finer or bulkier yarns. Make sure to pick a crochet hook at least a size smaller than suggested on the yarn label and crochet tightly enough to achieve a tight gauge that will not allow the stuffing to show through the fabric.

Sizing / Finished Measurements:

  • 15 cm (6") with DK weight alpaca wool and a 2,50 mm crochet hook (US size 1/B).

  • Yarn. I used DK weight alpaca wool, 100 m = 50 g (110 yds = 50 g) / 8 ply / 11 wpi. You will need about 50 g or 100 m (110 yds) of yarn
  • 2,25 - 2,75 mm crochet hook (US size 1/B - 2/C) or according to the yarn.
  • Polyester fiberfill, wool, wadding etc. for stuffing.
  • 9 mm (1/3") safety eyes or buttons, beads, felt etc.
  • Embroidery floss.
  • Scissors, yarn needle, stitch marker.
  • Ribbon, thread and sewing needle.

Suggested yarn:

110 yards of DK weight

Preferred Brand/Yarn:

Katia "Alpaca Andes"
