I love making custom-designed crochet dolls for my friends, and I especially love challenging requests. One friend asked me to crochet a set of five yarn dolls that look like traditional Russian wooden nesting dolls, and she wanted them to stack together like the real thing. After much experimenting with different yarns and dimensions, I came up with an easy-to-make, stackable set of yarn dolls that hold their shape whether nested or hollow, with the top resting snug on the base. They look great on display, or would make a fun plaything for a young child!
My pattern includes special construction techniques for making hollow dolls that hold their shape. Pattern also lists the specific materials you will need, including brands and colors, available at most craft stores such as Michael's or Walmart, or order online at craft stores such as www.joann.com.
Pattern includes:
-- definitions of stitch abbreviations
-- materials list
-- step-by-step color photo illustrations
-- cutting guides for faces and flowers for each doll
-- optional heart designs
