Basic Skills Necessary:

  • dc/sc = UK double / US single crochet
  • reverse dc/sc = reverse single crochet
  • tr/dc = UK treble / US double crochet
  • dc/sc2tog = UK double Crochet / US Single Crochet 2 sts together

Pattern Description:

Help stimulate your child's imagination with an easy to work hand puppet. Designed simply so that even the littlest of hands can make Michael's mouth move. Hand puppets are a fun extension of pretend play that any child can engage in. Let your child take the lead and you'll be amazed at where you will go together. Michael Monkey is no.3 of a 4 part set of other animal puppets.

Gauge:

5 dc/sc = 1 inch / 2.5 cm

Sizing / Finished Measurements:

  • Finished puppet is approx. 8 inches / 25 cm from nose to cuff and will fit little hands easily; it will also stretch to accommodate adult hands too for adult / child playtime.

Materials:

  • 4 mm (US size G)
  • 20g of dark brown DK yarn (8 ply)
  • 5g of sandy DK yarn (8 ply)
  • 5g of black DK yarn (8 ply)
  • Scraps of white DK yarn (8 ply)

You Will Also Need:

  • Yarn needle
  • Small amount of toy stuffing
  • 1 x Stitch marker
  • Pins (Optional)

Suggested yarn:

75 yards of DK weight
