G hook for worsted-weight yarn or hook size appropriate to achieve a firm but not stiff crochet fabric For eyes: black half-ball shank buttons for eyes (bear shown was made with 3/8" diameter buttons) OR black yarn for embroidering eyes For button or bead joints: Four four-hole flat buttons OR four beads large enough not to slip between crochet stitches
