Hi there! Meet Juniper, a friendly, out-going and very adventurous fairy. If Juniper is not out and about taming bumblebees or scaling the mountains of Arann, she is at a party playing her little heart out on the whistle she carved from a piece of an oak branch which she found in Arann Wood.
Juniper is made using the crochet style of amigurumi and is perfect for an intermediate or an expert and would be a great challenge for a beginner.
Here's what you will need to have a little bit of fairy magic in your life:
* 3 colours of double knit yarn. I used 100% acrylic in the following:
Cream coloured yarn: King Cole Price Wise in "Natural 46"
Blue yarn: Tivoli Spinners "Eurospun Blockbuster" in shade 568.
Purple yarn: Tivoli Spinners "Eurospun Blockbuster" in shade 601.
* A 4mm (G) crochet hook.
* Polyester fiberfill stuffing.
* 2 black safety eyes, 15mm.
* Yarn Needle.
* Stitch marker.
* Some black yarn scraps.
If using the specified yarn, your finished Juniper will be approx. 10inch tall by 5inch wide when finished, but feel free to experiment and use whatever hook and yarn you choose (note that the finished piece will vary accordingly!)
The pdf provides a full written pattern, complete with finished piece photos and instructions for any tricky bits! Should you need any clarifications please feel free to email me at any time :)
So why not add a bit of Arann magic to your crochet life and welcome your very own Juniper Faery into your home :)
Gauge is not important for this pattern. Just enure that the pieces are crocheted tight enough that the stuffing will not show through the finished piece.
