Pattern Description:

Make this cute little bat, skull, cauldron, witch's hat and broom - a magical, witchy play set, also ideal for Halloween, Samhain, the nature table or shelf. They can also be used to make brooches, or to adorn other projects, like bags, scarves, hats etc, or as phone/bag charms, part of gift wrapping - so many ideas!

Uses 3mm, 3.50mm and 4mm hook sizes.

USA crochet terminology is used throughout, but I am willing to help with conversion to UK terminology if this is difficult for you.

Sizing / Finished Measurements:

  • If you use the hook sizes and yarns quoted, then the dimensions are as follows: Bat body = 1.25" (3.2cm) wide, 2" (5cm) tall. Wing span = 5" (12.75cm) at widest point. Skull = 2.5" (6.4cm) long, 1.5" (3.75cm) high. Cauldron = 3.15" (8cm) high, 3" (7.6cm) diameter at widest part. Broom = 10" ( 25.4cm) long Witch's Hat = 3" (7.6cm) high, brim diameter = 4.25" (10.75cm)


  • small amounts of DK yarn in black, white, brown

You Will Also Need:

  • 3.00mm, 3.50mm and 4.00mm crochet hooks
  • embroidery/yarn needle
  • toy stuffing
  • plastic straw
  • hair spray or fabric stiffener
