Pattern Description:

Crochet a soft action figure of the fireball-throwing wizard of the Final Fantasy video game, the Black Mage. Makes a fast, easy, cute gift for the gamer in your life. You should be able to whip one up in three to four hours.

Doll stands on its own. Pattern is for those with beginning to intermediate crochet skills and basic needle-work skills. Parts are made in spiral rounds.

Sizing / Finished Measurements:

  • 4.5 inches (11 cm) tall with hat, 3.5 inches (9 cm) without hat, and 2.5 inches (6 cm) wide at the base. Hat brim is about 3.5 inches (9 cm) wide.


  • E/3.5mm hook
  • worsted-weight yarn in blue, black, yellow, and mustard
  • stuffing
  • weighted stuffing such as polyvinyl pellets, glass vase gems, dry beans, or clean gravel
  • yellow felt scrap
  • craft glue
  • scissors, yarn needle, and large-head pins
  • nylon stocking or mesh fabric for encasing the weighted stuffing
