This set is for Sian Sheep, Derek Donkey and Patrick Pig.
These puppets are fun to make and even more fun to play with afterwards! They are based on a traditional sock puppets so that you fingers go in the "nose" and your thumb goes in the "chin". I originally made some of these for my son when he was a toddler and started getting requests. I ended up making and selling 24 in the month before Christmas. Eventually I wrote the patterns.
They have evolved a bit over the years, going from separate bits that are joined together at you work to using colour changing for a better effect and more comfortable fit. I have started re-writing the older patterns in the way the newer ones are designed as I think they look better. In the meantime, the original style patterns are still available and still work just as well.
They are made to fit my hand (medium lady size) so that adults can play with them as well. You can make them a little bigger or smaller by changing hook size and/or yarn. Each pattern contains 3 designs.
All of these puppets require some experience to complete. They with explicit instructions and plenty of pictures which make the patterns look a lot more complicated than they actually are. They are mostly made with UK-dc (US-sc).
I don't see the point in making toys for children which can't be washed so I use machine washable acrylic DK. This means that you don't have to worry about them getting dirty because you can just throw them in the washing machine. It also comes in a variety of cheerful colours.
The zip file contains both UK English and US English versions. My patterns are not watermarked or locked, apart from a copyright statement at the bottom of each page.
As required by "The Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013", a copy of the T&C is included with your download.
You have permission for items made from any of my patterns to be sold either for charity or personal profit. This does not include mass production and/or paying other people to make them so that you can sell them. Please credit Helen Free, Enfys or Rainbow Valley Crochet with the design, and include a link back to www.enfys.me.uk
You do not have permission to reproduce or distribute this pattern, whether mechanically, electronically or any other means, including photocopying. You most certainly do not have permission to load them to another site for your own profit.
Not important as long as they fit your hand when you have finished but, for those who like to be precise -
UK - 16 dc and 21 rows to a 10cm square.
US - 16 sc and 21 rows to a 10cm square.

I also scrapbook and have combined this with crochet with a fun range of motifs to use in scrapbooking.
Now that Craftsy have updated the system to allow zip files, all of my English patterns are being updated to a zip file with both the UK terms and the US terms.
