Last year I have created a fun pattern that drew its inspiration from a popular TV show Duck Dynasty as well as the winter Sochi Olympics. The set was done in a camouflage looking yarn and has a typically Russian Ushanka hat. It can be worn so many different ways; ear flaps tied under your chin for most cold protection, tied on the top of the crown in a military style and finally my favorite "girly" way with ear flaps folded back and tied on the back. The pattern uses my favorite variegated yarns, fun fur yarns or similar.
This pattern was so popular among knitters that I looked into duplicating it in Crochet.
With the help of my good friend and very talented Crochet designer Viktoriya Isakina I am now able to present the crochet version of my Duck Dynasty a LaRusse for crochet.
This pattern uses about 100g of sports, aran or light worsted weight yarn and about 40g of any Sherpa-looking yarn like the Bella Soft Panda, Dark Horse Enchanting and finally Pipsqueak. Yarns and trim colors can be complimentary / matching or contrasting.
This is a quick and easy project.
This particular pattern is written for medium to full bodied 18" doll.
Suggested hook size is 3mm - 4 mm. Please adjust your yarn to hook size based on your crochetting style. The pattern is rather forgiving and can always be enlarged or made smaller by either reducing or adding number of rows.
Every new yarn and color combination is an opportunity for new fun look.
