Basic Skills Necessary:

  • Crocheting in rows.
  • Crocheting in rounds.
  • Crocheting in spiral.
  • Chain, slip, single, half double and double crochet stitch.
  • Increasing and decreasing.

Pattern Description:

Includes one PDF file on 22 pages with all the instructions needed to make your own little doll with a dress, shoes and a messenger bag. All clothes are sewn to the body.

Pattern is written in English, using US crochet terminology. I included detailed instructions, many step-by-step photos and useful tips and tricks.

In this tutorial I will explain starting a piece with an adjustable loop (magic ring), starting an oval piece with a chain, changing yarn, back post single crochet stitch, finishing a piece, joining pieces, knotting and hiding yarn tails. Pattern includes unlimited support from me via email.

Gauge:

You can use the same pattern to make smaller or larger toys by using finer or bulkier yarns. Make sure to pick a crochet hook at least a size smaller than suggested on the yarn label and crochet tightly enough to achieve a tight gauge that will not allow the stuffing to show through the fabric.

Sizing / Finished Measurements:

  • 28 cm (11") tall, with DK weight cotton yarn and a 2,25 mm crochet hook (US size 1/B).

Materials:

  • Yarn. I used DK weight cotton yarn, 110 m = 50 g (120 yds = 50 g) / 8 ply / 11 wpi. You will need about 55 g of beige, 35 g of orange, 10 g of green and 6 g of white yarn and 35 g of DK weight alpaca yarn.
  • 2,25 - 2,75 mm crochet hook (US size 1/B - 2/C) or according to the yarn.
  • Polyester fiberfill, wool, wadding etc. for stuffing.
  • 12 mm (1/2") safety eyes or buttons, beads, felt etc.
  • Cotton embroidery floss in dark brown and pink.
  • Satin ribbon and matching thread.
  • 3 buttons for shoes and bag, 2 beads for earrings.
  • Yarn needle, sewing needle, scissors, stitch marker.

Suggested yarn:

370 meters of DK weight
