I like a kind of cute that I don't usually see.
I don't know how I made my past cat attempts and so had to begin again and this time write the pattern In so doing, she evolved into something else, remembered, friendlier and more angular.
Aviva's body and legs are crocheted in one piece.
Her head alone will work as a cat pin.
Her tail is about 5", her body is about 4" tall and 3.5" deep
(from front paw to back paw).
The pattern is named for Aviva, a beautiful barn-born cat, who, unbeknownst to me, was pregnant when I adopted her in exchange for the adoption of my Leto, too wild for urban life, who made a great barn cat hunter. I kept one of her kittens, Solar, who like his mother, became a soulmate.
Cats have rescued me throughout my life and this pattern is a small token of my enduring gratitude.

Long, long ago, far, far away, when the subway cost a quarter and the corner drugstore was also an ice cream parlor where a little girl sipped vanilla egg creams, her mother, who made her wonderful clothes, showed her how to crochet. Her father taught her how to solder and make a tuner.
