Pattern Description:

Who doesn't enjoy a good superhero costume or photo prop? Especially with the Dark Knight Rises just releasing, this is a great way to celebrate such an epic trilogy!

This is an easy-to-follow pattern that includes 9 pages with lots of illustrations for you to follow. There are directions for the hat (with specially designed ears), cape (that fastens around the neck), and logo (with bat symbol template included).

Gauge:

With J hook and worsted weight yarn, Ch 21

ROW 1: Sc in second ch from hook and all the way across (20)
ROW 2: Ch 2, turn. Dc in each stitch across (20)
ROW 3: Ch 3, turn. Trc in each stitch across (20)
ROW 4: Ch 2, turn. Dc in each stitch across (20)
ROW 5: Ch 1, turn. Sc in each stitch across (20). Finish off.

Swatch should measure 8" X 3"

Sizing / Finished Measurements:

  • Hat - 13" circumferance
  • Cape Length - 16"
  • Cape Strap - 20"
  • Bat Symbol Logo - 5" X 3"

Materials:

  • 1 Skein of main color (black/blue)
  • 1 Skein of contrasting color (yellow/grey/pink)
  • 1 sheet of felt (same as main color)
  • Tracing paper for bat logo template

You Will Also Need:

  • G hook
  • J hook
  • Yarn needle
  • Something for closure on cape's neck strap (buttons/velcro/magnets)
