My name is Stefanie. My grandmother taught my mother, and then my mother taught me, the basics of knit and crochet. After going through college without really practicing, I decided to get back to this versatile craft. I chose to specialize in creating, then knitting and crocheting patterns from photos/drawings/writings/anything that I can see.
Now, I want to specialize in MiCrochet--crocheted embroidery floss. I have gained a surprising amount of experience in the short time since I've begun; looking back at projects in even a 6-month span shows progress like from the Stone Age to the Bronze. I don't know what kind of potential is left, but hopefully by the end of my life, I will improve to the Digital Age!
Create a knitted or crocheted blanket, curtain, place mat, etc., from any image--perhaps a photo of a cherished person, or a first handwritten word. "Small" is limited to 2 subjects, e.g. 1 person and 1 pet. The pattern will be graph form (sample pattern above), and will not include a border.
As you know, anything custom-made can't be ready for you until after you have ordered it, and that includes this pattern. I will need you to e-mail me ( firstname.lastname@example.org ) the following information:
1) The image
2) Your natural square gauge (stitches by rows)
3) How many colors (default 2)
4) Number of stitches* (default 120)
Your pattern will be available within 5 business days, depending on how many colors you choose and the complexity of the image. I will keep you posted on its progress. As soon as I have finished, I will reply to the e-mail address you first used with your PDF pattern attached.
* I only need the number of stitches if you want the pattern to fit into a particular space. Most designs will not look good if they have fewer than 30 stitches.
It will depend on your natural stitching style. Usually 2x2 for crochet, 3x5 for knit.
