Pattern Description:

For several years I have gotten steady emails asking about the & Dogs crochet blanket pattern that appeared in the July 2011 Crochet! Magazine. It was a fun blanket. Although I am not able to distribute that pattern, I am able to design a new, updated dog blanket. This one has floppy ears, legs and tails! You can sew down as much or as little of the applique appendages as you wish. I left mine super floppy but if you have small children playing or using this you might wish to consider sewing down them pieces more.

Make as many or as few squares as you wish. The trim will turn out right no matter how many blocks you wish to make. You can make one for a premie or toddler blankie or make a lot more for a lap or bed sized blanket. Use as many or few background or dog colors as you wish. I went scrappy and used four for the background but it would be awesome in more or less colors. Just have fun with it! Go wild on that scrap bin or use only one color for the background. It's up to you!

For the Blanket...
Worsted weight
Color A - Blue - 3 oz
Color B - Pink - 3 oz
Color C - Orange - 3 1.2 oz
Color D - Green - 4 oz
Color E - Lt Brown - 8 1/2 oz
Color F - Dark brown - 3 1/2 oz
Color G - Black - 1/2 oz
Color H - Warm Brown - 2 1/2 oz
Color I - Yellow - 6 oz

For the Doll -
Color A - Head, body, arms, legs, tail - 4 oz
Color B - arms, legs, ears, tail - 1 3/4 oz
Color C - nose - black - small amount
24mm black safety eyes

This original CraftyDeb crochet pattern is designed by me, Deb Richey.

For the blanket - 8 rows & 14 dc = 4"
For the doll - Gauge is not critical for this project, however the tighter you crochet, the less stuffing you will see through your stitches.
