Can you tell me how different this pattern is from the one that was published by Annie's Attic, last year? I'm debating whether to buy that book, elsewhere, or just spring for this pattern, here. They look very similar.

Thank you! I thought they looked the same but i didn't want to accidentally order two of the identical thing. Did you write multiple patterns for that booklet? It seems like you have another pattern that is similar to one in that same book. I really like both!

Never mind. I was over thinking things. I retried the pattern in different colors (no black, so it was easier to see the stitches) and I think I've got. Thank you for the beautiful pattern

I have a question, when making the reverse blanket, are you essentially making two blankets and then they get crocheted together?

kraftling on craftsy.com
kraftling  April 15, 2016
Flag as inappropriate

The individual motifs are made and then stitched to the reverse blanket.

Hi kraftling, my friend and I are working on your pattern - we were non-crocheters before. We are totally nailing the feathers, yay!
But, we are having some issues with row 2 of the blanket, we've both tried it multiple times and it ends up looking the same - unfortunately nothing like what your video for row 3 shows it to look like. Where yo have this part (ch 4, 1 sc, ch 3, 9-dc cluster
over next 9 sts) to end in the pattern, should that really be 9-dc over 9 stitches? It just seems to bunch up and form a scallop?
Can't work out what else it could be? should it be (ch 4, 1 sc, ch 3, 9-dc cluster) ALL be repeated over 9 stitches til the end. the 9-dc x 9 stitches makes it really lumpy and not straight like yours in the vid. Please help!

When starting the second color in the feather, what is the correct way to join the next color? You can't really join through a slip stitch, it would throw the pattern off. Thanks!

kraftling on craftsy.com
kraftling  March 25, 2016
Flag as inappropriate

I often make a slip knot in the joining yarn and then join it by beginning the first stitch. I'm not sure that this is the correct way, but I find it doesn't show the join and it works for me! With crochet, I always encourage people to play with it a little and find what works best/looks best to them!
Hope that helps :)

What size hook is used for which part of the blanket?

kraftling on craftsy.com

5mm for the motifs and 8mm for the reverse blanket, though it's a good idea to check gauge and size-up if necessary.

Hi, quick question! I'm working the pattern larger and wanted to clarify- the center of the rounds that are made in the reverse blanket pattern, are they to line up with the center of the motifs per each row? Or are the motifs just spaced evenly across each row whether they line up or not? I just want to make sure I'm adding the right amount when adjusting the reverse blanket pattern. Thanks!

kraftling on craftsy.com
kraftling  January 30, 2015

It's going to look great 1.5 times as big! I would just crochet half as many more of the peacock motifs, and then adjust the size of the reverse blanket so it's as big as you need it to be (so probably ch 132 for the reverse blanket instead of 90, and then you can adjust the number of edging rows at the end if it you need it a bit bigger or smaller to fit).
Hope that helps!

Hi, this is a gorgeous blanket and I'd love to make it for a friend. I've only been crocheting for 6 days, so not sure how long it would take me to do a blanket of this size. (Perhaps years at the rate I go!) Is it easy to amend the pattern to make it smaller - perhaps half?

kraftling on craftsy.com
kraftling  June 27, 2014

You could easily do less of the peacock motifs to make it smaller. The reverse side blanket would just need to be scaled down then as well.

Hello there, Your crocheting very mesmerising, bold and very colourful. In fact I love both your designs. I am going to get both patterns in the next 24 hours . They are both relatively easy for me as I have been crocheting for 42 years. I do extremely fine crocheting and that is where I get the greatest satisfaction from. I do have one doily project on my craftsy page if you would like to check it out. Again great colour design and looks fun thanks for sharing. Julieannabell.
