Hello I'm interested in the Orchid pattern but have a few questions. You say "once you learn to change colors" do you give the instructions on how to do this in the pattern? I know how to change colors, but the description says the afghan looks beautiful on both sides so I know there has to be a skilled way to change colors. Also I have made a Filet Pattern from a graph would your pattern be similar? I feel I'm at a little above intermediate skill level.

I've made several graphghans (afghan from a graph). It's all single crochet. To learn to change colors, check out "how to change colors for graphghan" on youtube. If you're on Facebook, there are several groups you could join. My favorite is "Teach Me Graphghan". Lots of help, inspiration, many free graphs. For a fee they will create a pattern (graph or written) from your favorite photo.

I am fairly new at crocheting and would love to make this for my mother. What kind of stitches are in this pattern? Is there anyway I could see a clip from some of the pattern to see if I would be able to understand it? Without my mom to ask I have to make sure I can read it on my own. I normally ask her, but if it is her surprise i can't ask her.

Is this afghan been crocheted with intarsia or tapestry technique?
Thank you for sharing.

I personally have never done it either ways but I'm sure it can easily be done with tapestry. Intarsia as well but the gauge would be different and the flower might looked short or stretched.

this afghan is awesome !!!!! You are an artist, not only a crafter! I also think poppies - or tulips - (in red & orange of course!) would look fantastic.

Let me know what other flower afghans you would love to see. I'm going to design some new ones to add to the flower series...

yes tunisian stitches can be used and the flower cross stitched over the stitches. This is what I am doing. I love this afghan! It is gorgeous!
