Frustrated with my inability to find a rug that would fit properly in the small space beside my bed, and inspired by my success with the Sunburst Rug I created for my son, I decided to make this soft and squishy rug. It is made using 1 strand each of 6 different colors of yarn held together as one to give it a pebbly effect. But it could also be worked in 6 shades of the same color to give it a heather appearance, or completely contrasting colors if making for a kids room. It is very soft under foot, and comfortable and warm when waking up on those chilly mornings. This rug is made to last, and will be very durable, and best of all, machine washable!
My granny taught me the basics of crochet when I was 5 & I have learned the rest on my own, mostly through books. I also taught myself how to knit a few years ago. And I taught a crochet class for awhile until I had my youngest son. I would love to open my own yarn store someday, as our closet one is about 50 miles away. I have been a happy yarn crafter for over 20 years! :)
