Pattern Description:

The calming design of this filet crochet valance cascades down on each side for added dimension. Instructions for both a short and long version are included. The rod pocket is built into the design and a repeat in the pattern is provided to increase the width in 11-1/4" increments.

The valance is worked from the top down. Detailed instructions are given in addition to a graph provided for reference. Keep track of the rows for the short or long valance, some rows are skipped for the short valance.

This pattern is written in U.S. terms.


Working in pattern:
10 blocks/spaces = 3-1/2"
11 rows = 3-1/2"

Sizing / Finished Measurements:

  • Short Valance: 18-3/4" long in the center to 27" on the sides x 67-1/2" wide
  • Long Valance: 27" long in the center to 35-1/4" on the sides x 67-1/2" wide


  • Ecru crochet cotton, size 10, in 350 yd. (320 m) balls - Short Valance (5), Long Valance (7)
  • Size 8 (1.50 mm) steel crochet hook
