Basic Skills Necessary:

  • You should already know how to ch, sl st, sc, hdc and dc.
  • Additional stitches are explained in the instructions.

Pattern Description:

The continuous stacked blocks give a different illusion from every direction on this reversible baby afghan.

This afghan is not as complicated as it looks! The reversible design is achieved by alternating rows of medium and light blue, using a combination of sc and long hdc which are worked into the previous row. The long hdc are worked with medium blue on odd rows and light blue on even rows creating the reversible effect. The ends of all the rows are woven in and a border is added around the outside edge. A design chart is also included with the pattern. Be sure to follow the directions carefully and keep track of which row you're on -- the rows do not repeat in this pattern.

This pattern is written in U.S. terms.
