I came up with this butterfly pattern when I wanted something different for my mother on Mothers Day. I couldnt find a pattern I liked, that had butterflies "all over the place", one I could crochet as long as I wanted without breaking the yarn and needed to sew together at the end. This is what I came up with!
You can use whatever yarn you like and crochet as long/big as you want it. It starts at the tip of the triangle so you just keep crocheting, row after row of butterflies until you are satisfied. Thats why this pattern is so usable, you dont need a special yarn. Just adjust the hook after the yarn.
Eg: Using DK yarn and 4 mm hook I crocheted 6-8 rows of butterflies to make a normal size of shawl.
Using Fingering yarn, such as Drops Fabel, and hook 2,5 mm I needed to make 11 rows to make a normal size of shawl.
The pattern includes written instructions, charts and photo tutorial so anyone with basic skills in crocheting can do this.
