It seems that I am the only one to have a problem. I love this hat, and I was doing very well, up until the 6th round, where you do 2fpdc's in the same stitch, then skipped the next stitch; next round was all hdc's. That is when I was getting a ridge all around. What am I doing wrong????? Please help!!!!

These were easy to make. My girls loved them. I also made different flowers and put them on pins to be able to change the feel and colors of the hat easily.

Does this pattern require tight crocheting?

I"m an extremely tight crocheter/knitter and I had to let up a bit. Now I think a loose crocheter might have a problem so check your gauge.

I've gone down to a size 'G' crochet hook, and the gauge is still too big. The only way I come close to the gauge is to use baby yarn and a size 'f' hook.

Is there a way to keep the brim from bending? I have one corner that wants to curl up and the other curl down.

You need to do the SC decrease stitches on the brim quite loosely I find, if it still wants to curl up then try putting a slightly damp towel over it and running an iron over just the brim. Take care when doing this, especially if you have used synthetic yarn- you wouldn't want to melt all your hard work!

Love it! Just added new pictures to the finished projects. Really quick and easy. The flower is an even bigger bonus!

The same thing happened to me! And, already had a request to make it for my great-granddaughter's birthday! So, I'd better get it ordered, huh?

Before ordering, I want to be sure that the pattern includes instructions for the flower. Is it included?

I'm crocheting right now (I'm on the 7th round) and the directions are really easy to follow too! They only thing I've ever crocheted is a simple skinny scarf. I've never followed a pattern before so if I can do it anyone can!

How does the brim turn out, floppy or somewhat stiff?

Somewhat stiff. Though I have realized it gets distorted and bends oddly at times.
