Pattern Description:

This simple crochet pattern, written in standard U.S. terms, shows you how to make an easy and delightful drawstring bag for your favorite little ones! Worked primarily in single crochet and chain stitch, the bag is easy to make in less than two hours. Add a 70's style "flower power" applique and a tiny black and yellow bee for a memorable gift. The flower, bee and other appliques are the same ones you'll find in another of Susan's pattern sets (the "Spring Flower" set with the baby hat). You can see a blog post below about the appliques.

The ebook includes notes, a materials list, a key to abbreviations and terms, lots of photos of the projects as they progress, and of course the crochet instructions themselves. The bag is written in a large size (about 8" high and 6" wide) and a medium size (about 7" high and 5" wide), and there are options for several different versions of your bee and flower appliques.

Materials you will need include a size G aluminum crochet hook, a size 1 steel thread crochet hook (if you want a small thread crochet bee), various colors yarn, and a few contrast colors of embroidery floss or crochet thread.

Sizing / Finished Measurements:

  • Bag is approximately 8" high and appliques range from 2.5" across for flowers to 3/4" across for the ladybug and bee

Materials:

  • 1 skein of medium weight yarn in 2-4 colors, crochet thread, 30 yd of 3-4 colors, size G crochet hook, size 1 ( 2.00 mm) steel thread crochet hook

You Will Also Need:

  • scissors, tapestry needle for weaving ends through work
