Pattern Description:

This summer hat pattern includes all sizes from infant to adult. Made with cotton yarn, it makes a cool sun hat to wear or use wool for a warm hat for when winter is here.

The pattern uses basic crochet stitches - chains, slip stitches, single, half-double & double crochet. You need to know how to change colors and crochet in the round.

You will need between 2.5 & 4 ozs (70 - 115 grams) of yarn, depending on the size made.

You can make the hat with red/pink, white & green for a fun watermelon hat; red, white & blue for a patriotic hat; or any other combination you want. Instructions for the details on the watermelon & patriotic versions are included in the pattern.

Gauge:

In sc, 18 rows & 15 sts = 4 inches. Please take time to check your gauge - failure to get gauge may result in your hat turning out too small or too large.

Sizing / Finished Measurements:

  • directions for newborn to adult size included

Materials:

  • up to 4 ounces of worsted or lt worsted yarn (cotton used for models)
  • Crochet hook size H/5.00mm

You Will Also Need:

  • Stitch marker (optional)
  • Yarn needle for weaving ends/adding details
