Pattern Description:

SLANTING LINE ESPADRILLES/TOMS
The basic Crochet Slipper Pattern; No in- or out-soles included.
One-piece, toe-up!

The simple design of Espadrille, is my great inspiration designing crochet slippers.
Espadrilles are originally simple handmade canvas shoes with rope-soles, produced in Spain for hundreds of years (And other places world-wide, only named differently).

For these slippers I had in mind the classic US ones, which they call Toms, the brand-name. All their designs have this famous diagonal cut across the toe-piece, and this slanting line is what I wanted to achieve with these slippers!

You can make your own Toms!
As all my crochet slippers, also this pair is turned into street-shoes! My tailored Cord-Soles are attached as a final finish.
See pics of the slippers with/without in- and out-soles.
Read ADDITIONAL info below.

No need of soles if you like to wear the shoes as slippers only!

ADDITIONAL AND OPTIONAL FOR YOUR NEW SLIPPERS

Attaching out-soles to the basic slippers, has several advantages. They protect your slippers against wear and tear, makes them sturdy and comfortable to walk and wear, it looks nice, and not least; It turns your home slippers into street shoes!
Handmade insoles will add extra comfort and softness, and keeps the slippers in shape. Personalize the soles with pretty fabric and labels! A very good gift-idea!
It's great fun! Perfect project for craft-lovers!
