Hi I was just wondering if this hat is made with 2 strands of yarn or just one?

Hi I'm new to crocheting.. Near the end of the main helmet portion, you say "All sizes: Sc in next 2, sl st in next 2". I did round 12 to 9 inches. So after 9 inches, do i do the Sc in next 2, sl st in next 2 making it 4 stitches worth? or do I do "Sc in next 2, sl st in next 2" all the way around? hope you know what im trying to ask! thanks

SC in next 2 and sl st in next 2 for 4 stitches total and then you'll turn it and work from there

Hello, I bought your pattern and loving it! I just have a quick question please: when doing the edge around the visor, do I just do sc all around (apart from the button loops where I do slst), or do I do sc, chain 2, sc like you mentioned but where do I do this? In the same space or do I place the chain (ch2) over a section like a loose loop? I hope you understand my babbling lol, not good with the terminology.

SC Chain 2 is only at the junction of your 2 pieces (at least thats how I'm doing it). It makes a slight loop but helps it stretch on the face a bit better.

Hello, sorry for the bother, but I'm new to crocheting.. Near the end of the main helmet portion, you say "All sizes: Sc in next 2, sl st in next 2". I did round 12 to 8 inches. So after 8 inches, do i do the Sc in next 2, sl st in next 2 making it 4 stitches worth? or do I do "Sc in next 2, sl st in next 2" all the way around? Thank you!

Before I buy the pattern, I would like to know what yarn weight is required to do this pattern. Thank you!

This is made with worsted weight yarn. I used Vanna's Choice for the grey in the main photo.

If I buy this pattern, is it going to be a picture tutorial, or a video I can watch?

I have a question about the pattern, I'm quite new to all this, and maybe it's a dumb question but i still hope you can help me.

"Sizes: All u sing J hook, this section is worked in the round without joining , ch2 do not count as a st. Place a st marker in the 1 st st in each round to keep your place"

This section is worked in the round without joining?
I don't get this. After I make my magic loop, I hdc 8 times. And I know the first ch2 doesn't count. But how can you work in the round without joining with a slip stitch?
I'm lost. :-) And a noob, I know.... :-p

Yes, it is worked in a continous round to avoid unsightly seams in the helmet.

Nathalie did you get a separate explanation on this? I don't understand either how it is worked on the round without joining.

I'm loving this pattern! I'm in a medieval re-enactment group and everyone wants to be a knight :) I've altered it slightly by changing yarn on the visor instead of making separate vents. Easier for me and I'm hoping less chance of stitches breaking as that happens to me more when I piece things together!

This is a great pattern. I've made two for my grandsons so far. The only change I made to the pattern was to knit the visor all in one piece--just used decreases to mirror the first side. Much easier!
