Pattern Description:

This is the first pattern I ever wrote. I loved the little sock monkey hats, but wanted one a bit more 3-dimensional. So I came up with this.

It has a great chunky stitch that is super warm, works up quickly and photographs well.

I also have this pattern available in a combo set that includes a Baby Sock Monkey Sock Cocoon for $6.00.

Gauge:

4 rows of 4 HDC = 2" x 2.5" with P Hook

Sizing / Finished Measurements:

  • Newborn, with size chart and instructions for size increase

Materials:

  • American P-15/ 10MM sized crochet hook
  • Worsted weight yarn in light grey
  • Worsted weight yarn in dark grey
  • Worsted weight yarn in red
  • Worsted weight yarn in black
  • Worsted weight yarn in white
  • Measuring tape, scissors, metal yarn needle

Suggested yarn:

6 ounces of Worsted weight

OMG!!! So adorable! I love that the nose on this monkey is 3 dimensional! That completes the look of this hat! LOVE IT!
This will keep your newborn baby nice and warm on the coldest of winter days.
