Pattern Description:

This is a PDF pattern for a sweet vintage-style beanie with a butterfly effect. You can dress it up with bling or leave it plain. The stitches create an open and lacy design that is really pretty. Great for spring!


13 stitches and approximately 6 rows in dc = 4" x 4" (10 cm x 10 cm)

Sizing / Finished Measurements:

  • 0-3 months - 12-14" circumference
  • 3-6 months - 14-16" circumference
  • 6-12 months - 16-18" circumference
  • toddler/child - 18-20" circumference
  • teen/adult - 20-22" circumference


  • 4 oz or less worsted weight cotton yarn
  • "K" (6.5 mm) crochet hook

You Will Also Need:

  • stitch marker
  • button or bling (optional)
  • needle and thread

Excellent Great pattern!  August 22, 2013

I made a few photo props for a friend to use with her new baby niece. I saw this pattern and just knew I had to have it. The pattern is very clear and made making this a breeze. I'm really happy with the results.
