About the designer

Both my grandmothers taught me how to crochet when I was a child. In the fall of 2010, I got involved with crocheting again and it has quickly become a passion. I love creating patterns!

Basic Skills Necessary:

  • single crochet
  • double crochet
  • treble crochet
  • reverse single crochet
  • magic ring

Pattern Description:

This is a PDF pattern for a cute textured Newsgirl (Newsboy) style beanie. The texture looks and feels great, this is one of my favorite hats to make. :)

I do not consider this a beginner pattern, it can be a little tricky until you get the hang of it. The stitches include sc, dc, tr and then a combination of dc stitches that makes up the textured pattern. Also in pattern are reverse sc and a magic ring.

The flower is optional, you could leave it plain or even sew on a button. Lots of possibilities!

Skill Level: Intermediate.

All of my patterns are written in U.S. Standard Crochet Terminology.
