The Guinan hat is inspired by the architectural and futuristic head gear worn by the character Guinan on the iconic television show, Star Trek: The Next Generation.
I read, write and watch sf, and have done so since I was in elementary school. I try to merge my interests and create in ways that unite them. This hat is one of a series of science fiction-inspired headgear.
The double spiral crown invokes earth wisdom and galactic wonder. The sides are wings that give the hat structure its lift. The season spanning design is amenable to personalization, growing more dramatic in larger sizes.
Work it in two colors as shown, or in a spiral of four -- or more!

Long, long ago, far, far away, when the subway cost a quarter and the corner drugstore was also an ice cream parlor where a little girl sipped vanilla egg creams, her mother, who made her wonderful clothes, showed her how to crochet. Her father taught her how to solder and make a tuner.
