I have always been one to love the arts and crafts, but I have always been limited to just drawing, and writing. But over the summer of 2011, that all changed. I picked up a crochet hook for the first time, and since then I have not been able to put it down! It all started when I moved out of my father's house and into my grandmother's house, I was going through some of her closets and that's when I found just boxes of yarn, needles, half finished projects, and so many pattern books from the 1970's! I fell in love!
Little did I know but I came from a long line of crocheters, on both my father's and my mother's side. The grandmother, which whom I currently live with, crocheted and was taught by her aunt and her mother, and she mostly did suits, afghans, and slippers. And on my mother's side, my late grandmother was a huge crochet geek, she could whip up a doily before you could say "I wear a banana on my head!" and she was always coming up with new patterns and new ideas! She passed this onto her oldest daughter, my Aunt, who sometimes shows me the ropes when I am truly stuck.
I feel honored to be able to continue this hook and yarn blood that courses through my veins!
I taught myself how to crochet, and now I am starting to expand my love for the needlework, I am starting to sell my items locally, being the Fort Worth area, until I can expand and be able to open an online paypal account, then it will be worldwide. This is the first hat I made and wrote the pattern as I went along.
