  • chain
  • double crochet
  • single crochet
  • slip stitch
  • front post stitch
  • back post stitch

Pattern Description:

Beautiful textures and subtle colour changes all topped off with a gorgeous circle of petals on the crown; make this beanie a joy to make and to wear. Looks good on both gals and guys! Why not try it in black and grey for a more masculine look or go all out with baby pinks and magenta!

Materials:
Small quantities (less than 50g each) of 3 different colours of DK/Light Worsted weight yarn. Example made with James. C. Brett DK in Natural (A) and Marriners DK Yarn in shades of Sky (B) and Saxe (C).

Method:
The Floral Crown Beanie is made from the top down starting with a magic loop and worked in the round, in one piece, to eliminate seaming.

Also available as part of the Hats, Hats, Hats! eBook with a substantial saving.

Gauge:

Gauge is not critical because of the 'stretch factor' if you would like a particularly large diameter hat then go up a hook size or two, bearing in mind that more yarn will be required. The length is easily adjusted by repeating the final round.

Sizing / Finished Measurements:

  • 21 inches/53 cms unstretched to 24 inches/61 cms stretched, approximately, and will fit the majority of teenager and adult heads.

Materials:

  • 50g each of three different coloured DK/Light Worsted Yarn

You Will Also Need:

  • Large eyed tapestry needle for weaving in tails.
