CAN THIS PATTERN BE WORKED UP BY USING TWO STRANDS IF YARN HELD TOGETHER?

Yes, it can, but you will need to be sure that the gauge still fits so do a test swatch first. My guess is that you will likely have to switch to a smaller hook unless the two strands of yarn you are using are of a lighter weight than the worsted weight called for in the pattern. Good luck!

Hmm, I replied to this already, but it doesn't seem to have worked so I will try again. My apologies if you receive 2 replies!

Yes, this pattern may be worked with 2 strands, but please make a test search first to test your gauge so your sizing doesn't end up way off. If you're using 2 strands of worsted weight yarn, you will probably need to use a smaller hook. If you're using 2 strands of a lighter weight yarn, you may be fine with the 5mm hook.

And now it appears that both replies worked. Haha!

Thank you so much for this great pattern. I barely know anything about crochet, and I've been able to figure it out. I'm not quite sure if I'm doing something wrong though. I made the child/teen size for my three year old, and it was much too tight. It barely stretched onto his head at all. I used a H8/5.00 mm hook and worsted weight yarn (Caron Simply Soft). I'm making the adult size for him now.

Thank you so much for this pattern, I use it all the time! I've made tons of crazy hats for my kids using this as the base. Dead-on sizing, love it!!

I love this. It works up quickly. I made it exactly as described, I also made one "finishing" it off with a row of sc... I liked how that turned out a little bit better.

I love this pattern! I was wondering if this would work with Caron Simply Soft yarn.

Yes, it should work just fine, but I would recommend testing your gauge before you begin as you may need to adjust your hook size.
