Basic Skills Necessary:

  • Chain St, magic loop, single crochet, double crochet, front post double crochet

Pattern Description:

This design is for a baseball cap for babies, but can be made for older children and up to adults. Caron Simply Soft yarn is used in the photos you see here.

PLEASE NOTE:
This pattern was designed using Caron Simply Soft yarn and I cannot be responsible for how the size turns out if you use a different brand of yarn or crochet too loosely.

Caron Simply Soft is listed as Worsted Weight, but it is thinner than your normal worsted weight yarn, i.e. Red Heart "Super Saver" or "With LOVE", or Hobby Lobby's "I Love This Yarn" or any other yarn that is the same thickness. This type of yarn will produce a larger item. If you do not want to use Caron Simply Soft yarn, I would suggest that you possibly use a heavier sport weight yarn (yes, sport weight yarns are not all the same either) with the correct sized hook to get the size you want.

G Hook Gauge = 9sc per 2 inches
