About the designer

I have been crafting, probably since before I was born! I taught myself to crochet when I was about 12 and haven't stopped. While that is my favorite craft, I have a love for just about all crafts!!

(4) Name: 'Crocheting : Autism Awareness Scarf Pattern
Autism Awareness Scarf Pattern Autism Awareness Scarf Pattern

Basic Skills Necessary:

  • Afghan stitch
  • Machine or hand sew

Pattern Description:

I was inspired to create this pattern because my cousin's son was diagnosed with Autism. His mom asked me if I could make her a scarf and she gave me a few ideas she had. So I thought about it and I thought the best way to raise awareness with the scarf was to copy the colors and design of the ribbon. So a concept began and ended with love and warmth. The back side is finished with a soft fabric with raised bumps on it to add a sensory texture.
The scarf is extra think and will keep you very warm both inside and out!
