  • Basic Crochet and craft skills

Pattern Description:

Allow me to introduce The Cord Sole!

Tailored Method Suitable for any foot-size and shoe-project.

The simple design of Espadrillas, is my great inspiration designing crochet slippers.
Espadrillas are originally simple handmade canvas shoes with rope-soles, produced in Spain for hundreds of years (And other places world-wide, only named differently).

This sole is my final solution in order to turn crochet slippers into street shoes!
With stubborn obsession, I have worked out a method for how to make attachable cord-soles for finished crochet (or knit-) slippers.
The method is adaptable for ANY foot-shape and -size.
You can also continue to crochet a shoe on top of the sole.

Attaching out-soles to basic slippers, has several advantages. They protect your slippers against wear and tear, makes them sturdy and comfortable to walk and wear, it looks nice, and not least;
It turns your home slippers into street shoes!

No sole-hole-punching! No seaming!

Handmade insoles will add extra comfort and softness, and keep the slippers in shape.
Personalize the soles with matching fabric, .... and labels! A very good gift-idea!

DON'T WORRY ABOUT THE MATERIALS, YOU'LL FIND THEM IN YOUR KITCHEN DRAWER, OR YOUR TOOL-BOX. OR YOU CAN PURCHASE THEM IN ANY HW-STORE OR SUPERMARKET, OR YOU CAN CROCHET THE CORDS YOURSELF!

You only need basic crochet and craft-skills to make these soles. VERY detailed step-by-step instructions with pics!

NOTE: With a good rope-sole, you don't even need the final treatment! See my Happy Scrap Shoes; Not treated, and still going strong!

The pattern includes:
16 pages PDF with written instructions, and lots of step-by-step images!
