  • Learn how to mount your center on a wire and then create and color a beautifully crafted seed pod full of spiky, feather-like carpels.

Lesson 6. Inner Magnolia Petals

  • Cut, thin, vein and shape the interior petals and then attach those to your dried center.

Lesson 7. Wired Magnolia Petals

  • Create all of the gorgeous, larger-than-life outer magnolia petals as Maggie shows you how to wire petals to add support and how to make loose petals to be used in your open blossoms.

Lesson 8. Making Magnolia Leaves

  • Maggie turns her focus to the leaves and shares her tips on how to size them so that the focus stays on the blossom and then demonstrates how to form and color them for a lifelike effect.

Lesson 9. Assembling the Magnolia

  • Watch your components come to life as you assemble this beautiful southern jewel. Wire the petals together, attach the leaves, place the center and add loose petals to complete your show-stopping sugar creation.

Lesson 10. Bonus: How to Make Gum Paste

  • Maggie demonstrates how to make your own gum paste at home using a stand mixer in this bonus lesson.

"Wonderful class, I highly recommend it. I have never made the dogwood blossoms before — let alone on a branch. I have taken the great tips and different techniques and applied them to the other flowers I have made and had wonderful results."
