What materials are used in this class?

Fabric requirements vary by project; you will need batting at least 8" longer and wider than the dimensions of your quilt top

Finished quilt sizes: Midnight Blues 60" x 70" (152 x 178 cm), Dimples 60" x 70" (152 x 178 cm), Mug Rug 12.5" x 18" (32 x 38 cm), Notting Hill 61" x 72" (155 x 183 cm)


  • Sewing machine, preferably equipped with a 1/4" (6 mm) patchwork foot
  • Walking foot (if machine quilting)
  • Machine needles: Size 80/12 for piecing and 90/14 for machine quilting
  • Rotary cutter and self-healing mat (24" x 36" or 61 x 92 cm)
  • Clear ruler (6" x 24" or 15 x 61 cm)
  • Pins, seam ripper, scissors, other basic sewing supplies
  • Spray starch
  • Basting medium (spray baste or safety pins)
  • 50-wt. cotton thread in a neutral color for piecing, and your choice of color for quilting
