Bag-Making Basics: Drawstring Bag & Bucket Bag

In this free class, Kristin Link of Sew, Mama, Sew! leads you through two fun and easy projects you're sure to love.
Here are two projects easy enough for kids to try but equally satisfying for accomplished sewists. In this free class, Kristin Link of Sew, Mama, Sew! will guide you step-by-step through the creation of two super-handy and pretty bags that you can embellish with embroidery, rubber-stamping and more.
With the drawstring bag, you'll learn clever tips for making and threading drawstrings that close your bag snugly. With the round-bottom bucket bag, you'll learn how to make a divided exterior pocket, plus learn how to reinforce your bag with fusible fleece interfacing. Both bags make great carriers for toys or crafting projects and can be customized to any size.
Kristin demonstrates her techniques using a line of quilting cotton from Liberty of London that is available as a Craftsy kit, but you can also raid your stash for fun fabrics to mix and match.

:) The class is very practical and at the end you can make a couple of very useful bags. I've done the bucket bag and it turned out exactly as Kristen said! She is a good teacher and very clear.
Great class!
Loved the drawstring trick. I didn't understand at first, but it was a cinch once I got it. I just love the design of the bucket bag. Can't wait to stuff it with my sewing supplies!
Great for Begginers
I am just starting to learn how to sew and this is a great class to start off with I hope there are going to be more classes by this teacher.
Perfect bag making
This is the second class I have taken with Kristen. She is wonderful instructor with easy to follow lessons. I am looking forward to making the bucket bags for my 2 youngest grandchildren. I plan on doing some machine embroidery to embellish the bags with their names and also add something to the inside circle just for them. Thank you so much Kristen and Craftsy for another wonderful class.
my sewing machine has a thread cutter?!:)
I am such a beginner that I didn't even know my machine had a thread cutter until I watched this video. I just made my first linded draw string bag after watching this video. I learned so much by just watching someone sew. Thank you for all the tips and tricks in this free class. I got muddled up with the draw strings so just used ribbon for now and it came out great.
