At Better Homes and Gardens, Doug provided horticultural expertise for more than 20 years. In addition to establishing Better Homes and Gardens' original test garden at his rural Iowa home, Doug was, as the magazine put it, "the Editor-in-Chief of anything related to gardening under the BHG brand." He also spent five years at Garden.com, where he managed its online and print publications. He received the 2001 American Horticultural Communication Award, and is a fellow of the Garden Writers Association of America. View profile »
