Step 2:

Take your cake and icing mixture and roll it into a ball, then insert it in the heart cutter, removing any excess.

Step 3:

Heat a little bit of your red chocolate Candy Melts (see our tips on how to melt Candy Melts). Dip a bamboo lollipop stick in the chocolate, then insert it through the bottom. Repeat the steps for four more cake pops and place them in the freezer for a little while (5-10 minutes) to allow them to harden.

Step 4:

Melt the rest of your red chocolate Candy Melts with your preferred method. Remove the heart pops from the freezer and allow them to warm up just a bit to ensure they don’t expand and crack. Dip them in the chocolate, allow the excess to drip off and place it in the Styrofoam or cake pop stand to dry. Try to get the cake pops as smooth as possible to provide a clean surface for the next steps.

Step 5:

Roll out white fondant with the rolling pin and 1/8″ guide rings. Use round decorating tip #12 to cut out four circles.

Step 6:

Roll out black fondant with the rolling pin and 1/8″ guide rings. Use round decorating tip #7 to cut out four circles.

Step 7:

Glue the black circles to the sides of the white ones to create the eyes. Remember to glue each pair in the opposite direction as the other to ensure they are looking at each other.

Step 8:

Use a toothpick dipped in white soft gel paste to dab onto the edges of the black circles.

Step 9:

Roll out light blue fondant thick with the rolling pin and wooden dowels as guides. Cut out two circles with the bottom of round tip #7.

Step 10:

Shape the circles into ovals, then pinch the centers inward while pinching the four corners to begin molding the bows.

Step 11:

Use the knife tool to indent a vertical line across the center of each bow. With the tip of the knife tool, make small indentations to make creases at the center of the bow on each side of the vertical line.

Step 12:

Use the black edible marker to draw smiles on two of the dry cake pops. Draw eyelashes on one of the cake pops and eyebrows on the other.

Step 13:

If your excess chocolate has hardened, heat it up just a bit and use a toothpick to apply the chocolate to the eyes and bows to glue onto the cake pops in place.

Wrap the cake pops in individual cellophane bags and tie them with a ribbon or display them on a stand or in a container anchored by Styrofoam to present your love matches to your Valentine!
