A Movember to Remember!

Movember may be nearing an end, but the hard work of men’s health advocates will have positive repercussions all year long! Craftsy’s Team Stachsy grew some truly impressive mustaches to raise funds and awareness to support research, clinical tests and treatments for prostate and testicular cancer, and many of Craftsy’s incredible members also contributed by crafting special gifts for the important men in their lives.

Handmade and Heartfelt: Member Movember Crafts

We were amazed and touched by the submissions to our “Movember Craft Month” — a colorful quilt to cheer a cherished partner, a dapper nutcracker painting to say “I love you,” and an adorable holiday–inspired coffee coaster made our hearts melt. Below are the wonderful creations shared by our Craftsy members, made to honor their men and the month of Movember.

Movember Cup Sleeve

Craftsy member lulugrrl1502418, who made this very cute Movember cup sleeve, says she was “inspired by Movember and all of the important men in men community. And by using this, the women in my life can also participate by having their very own Mustache.”

Compassion is what inspired member Dizzytoonz‘s knitting. She said, “My other half is a severe diabetic and is on a waiting list for kidney transplant. He is always complaining when he comes home how cold he is while going thru his painful dialysis treatment. It leaves me helpless and sad to hear him cry and moan with agony and pain and there is nothing I can do. So I came up with this afghan design to show him he is not going through this alone. Hence the word COMPASSION.”

Creative Quilt for Movember

New Beginnings Quilt

Craftsy member patticole created this beautiful Movember quilt as comfort for a friend experiencing a difficult transition. Fellow member DeniseS was touched by petticole’s work. “I love this quilt because I see and feel something different every time I look at it,” DeniseS said, “It makes me happy and calm and uplifted all at the same time. I consider this a real achievement. I hope this quilt brings your friend peace.”

Nutcracker Movember Art Work

Movember Nutcracker

“I love painting and my husband loves Christmas,” says Craftsy member leidamarie, who made this fun Movember Nutcracker. “I was about to throw away a bunch of old and abandoned canvases when I suddenly realized I could simply recycle them by converting them in surprises for my husband.”

And what is she most proud of? “I combined my love for painting with his love to Christmas (and his constant love for nutcrackers) and decided to create some paintings for him to decorate our living room (He decided for us to begin decorating as soon as November began). I love giving him surprises (and this one was really successful) because he is a guy who constantly (if not always) is thinking about me and doing whatever it takes to make me happy and comfortable. My husband has proven me that real, lovefull and loyal men exist. He makes me want to smile and be better every day. His vision in our future makes me want to be more and more of a better woman. We have barely been married for 3 months, and i cannot wait for the rest of my life by his side.”
