Crochet Thursday: 6 Foxy Crochet Patterns

Foxes are trending this fall, thanks in no small part to the music video that’s gone viral, “The Fox (What Does the Fox Say).” Despite his notorious reputation for being cunning and crafty (no, not our kind of crafty — the bad kind of crafty!), the fox is here to stay for a while. That comeback has never been more obvious in the craft world, and Craftsy is crawling with adorable fox crochet patterns.

From fox pillows to phone cozies and hats, here are adorable fox crochet patterns for every room and every occasion!

Red Fox Phone Cozy

Woodland Friends Hooded Cowl

Skunks, wolves, bears and even Ewoks — one hooded cowl becomes dozens of different animals with just a change of color. Naturally the fox is my favorite, but I won’t judge you for whipping up one of the other adorable animals! The pattern even comes in three sizes (toddler, child and adult), so you can make them for just about anyone willing to sport furry ears in public. Get the pattern here.

A Foxy Pillow

Normally I wouldn’t recommend cuddling with a fox, but I’ll make an exception for this fox pillow pattern. Crochet him in your softest bulky yarn for ultimate snuggling. Trade the orange yarn for gray to instantly change him into a wolf. This pattern is good practice if you want to improve your crochet intarsia skills. Get the pattern here.

Fox Scarf Pattern

Face it, this crocheted fox scarf is way more awesome than the real fur. This scarf is wearable art that’s sure to catch the attention of everyone you meet. Buy extra yarn and crochet additional crochet rows on the body if you want even more warmth to wrap around your neck. Get the pattern here.

Fox Appliqué

This fox may look simple, but there are dozens of ways to use him. Attach the fox appliqué to anything from bags to sweaters and notebooks. If you’re a fan of the appliqué pattern, take a look at the pattern designer’s other crochet animal appliqués, too. Soon you’ll have more woodland creatures than you’ll know what to do with! Crochet Amigurumi Fox

I can’t decide what’s cuter: the fox or the trees! If you know how to increase and decrease your single crochet stitches, you’re on your way to making one of these. I’d let this little fella just hang out on the windowsill. Get the pattern here.

Do you dig other woodland animals, too, like beers, deer, raccoons and bluebirds? Don’t miss Stacey Trock’s Amigurumi: Woodland Animals class, where you’ll learn all the skills you need to crochet these adorable forest creatures.

What kind of foxy crochet project will you make this fall?
