This October, Craftsy wants to celebrate creative bloggers who have truly inspired us through their original content, vivid imagery and exceptional online personas. That’s why we are presenting the first ever Craftsy Blogger Awards, to honor those individuals who spend so many hours behind the scenes crafting the blogs you love to read! Nominate your favorite blogger, and you’ll be entered for a chance to win a free online Craftsy class!

How it works

During the nomination phase, we’ll ask you to tell us your favorite blogs in any of these eight categories:

Sewing
Quilting
Knitting & Crochet
Cake Decorating
Photography
Embroidery
Fine Art
Food & Cooking

But that’s not all. We’ll offer three Craftsy Blogger Awards in each of the categories above, to recognize the top blogs in each specialty:

Best Tutorials
Best Photography
Best Craftsy Instructor’s Blog

How to nominate

We need your help October 1-14 nominating your favorite blogs in any of eight categories, such as sewing, knitting or fine arts. Choose the most fitting award for each blog, based on what you feel makes it special. Just four blogs from each category will move on to the next round, based upon votes from readers and the Craftsy Judging Panel, comprised of our editorial team and industry experts. Your nomination is important!

Click here to nominate your favorite bloggers and be entered for a chance to win a class!

On October 15, we’ll announce the four nominees per category and award, and you’ll have two weeks to vote for your favorite blogs. Again, these winners will be determined by reader votes and the Craftsy Judging Panel.

On October 29, we’ll announce one Winner and one Runner-Up for each award and category, for a total of 48 honorees!

Rules

A valid email address is required to nominate or vote. You must use your own email address, and we’ll also email you to let you know when the voting round begins.

Nominees must suit the category they are placed in. Please choose the category that best fits the blog (i.e. sewing or quilting, if both are covered). The Best Instructor’s Blog Award is open to Craftsy instructors only, and it is also the only award that will be determined 100% by your votes!

What can you receive for nominating a blog?

When you nominate your favorite blogger you’ll be entered for a chance to win a free online Craftsy class!

What will Craftsy Blogger Awards winners receive? Each Craftsy Blogger Awards winner will receive:

  • 1 free Craftsy class of their choice!
  • A Craftsy Blogger Awards Winner badge to wear proudly on their blog!
  • Winners may also be featured on the Craftsy blog and/or newsletter, providing great exposure for their brand.

Can I nominate a friend? Absolutely! Share this post with your favorite bloggers so they can get their readers to nominate them.

Can I nominate myself? Yes! But you cannot submit the same blog more than once. You may also encourage others to submit your blog. Here’s a handy blog badge that you can use to tell your blog readers about the awards, in case they’d like to nominate you.

  1. BeeGee says:

I’ve nominated The Patchsmith for the blogger award, but I wish I could nominate so many more Craftsy bloggers as the talent is endless. The talent shared with those of us devoted to quilting and sewing is just amazing. The hours I’ve spent just looking at the patterns could have been spent behind the sewing machine, but then I would miss all the wonderful ideas that there are to dream about. Also to all of you who keep Craftsy the class act that it is, know that you are greatly appreciated.

  2. JUDY TRAMMELL says:

WOULD LOVE TO SEE SOME WATERCOLORS, PAINTNG, SCRAPING CAMERA INFO.

  3. Kathy says:

I’d like to nominate Susan B Anderson for the best blog in the Knitting and Crochet category. I always look forward to reading her blog.

  4. Sheree says:

I completed your form nominating Carol Feller’s blog http://www.stolenstitches.com in the knitting catagory for best instructor (photography too!); however your form did not submit once completed!

    1. Megan says:

      Hi Sheree,

Sorry for the troubles. I’ve added your vote for Carol’s blog for both Knitting & Crochet: Best Craftsy Instructor & Knitting & Crochet: Best Photography. Don’t worry, your vote will be counted!

  5. Amy says:

I love the idea of Craftsy Blogger Awards! Just an FYI, I think the html text up there has an error. The link in the html text says ‘href=”http://www.craftsy.com/blog/2013/10/announcing-craftsy-blogger-awards-2013/”‘, but I think it should say, ‘href=”http://www.craftsy.com/blog/2013/10/announcing-craftsy-blogger-awards/”‘ without the 2013 at the end.

    1. Megan says:

Hi Amy, You’re right, thank you! We’ve updated the text above, so it should be working correctly now.

  6. Maz Kwok says:

Thanks for this event! I love the prizes :)

    Amen to nominating The Patchsmith!

  8. Debbie Winn says:

Just for clarification – are these Craftsy bloggers or any bloggers in the categories above? Thank you.

    1. Karen Kelty says:

      Hi Debbie!

The contest is not restricted to Craftsy bloggers. You can nominate any bloggers in the categories listed!

      1. Debbie Winn says:

        Karen, Thank you!

  9. ruth green says:

  10. Claire says:
