I would like to make the boot toppers. What does 21LPC and 21RPC mean? Does C4L mean cross over?

Thank you.

Hi Ginny,

So sorry for the delay! Here’s an explanation of these abbreviations:

21LPC: 2 over 1 Left Purl Cross; place 2 sts on cable needle and hold in front of work, purl 1, knit 2 sts from cable needle.

21RPC: 2 over 1 Right Purl Cross; place 1 st on cable needle and hold to back of work. Knit 2, purl 1 st from cable needle.

C4L: cable 4 left; place 2 stitches on cable needle and hold in front of work. Knit 2 sts, knit 2 sts from cable needle.

I also would like to have 2 1 lpc and 2 1 rpc explained. You knit in a different style than I do thus I am not able to follow the way of knitting those steps in the video. Thank you for replying.

On row 11 you are supposed to repeat cable cross as before. Does that mean to repeat rows 4-8 again. What are rib rows?

Thank you for your reply. I had figured out how to knit the first two cables, but wasn’t sure about C4L so I was glad you explained that also.
