Project Highlights: Broomstick Lace

Lace is lovely, and there’s not just one kind of lace. Today we highlight one of our favorites: broomstick lace. It’s created using both a large-gauge knitting needle and a crochet hook. While beautiful on its own as the base stitch for entire projects, broomstick is also the perfect “crossover” fiber art to add a bit of lace to any project. Check out Craftsy instructor Jennifer Hansen’s profile for more great broomstick inspiration. And remember: she can teach you all about broomstick lace in her online class Beyond Broomstick Lace.

Glad to see broomstick lace in your blog. It’s an almost forgotten thing and is so lovely.
I made shawls like this many years ago and still have the jumbo knitting needles but, I’ve forgotten how to do this. They are so pretty and lacey.
