Watching a Knitting Expert At Work: Miriam Felton at Fancy Tiger

Miriam Felton at Fancy Tiger

One of our fantastic Craftsy instructors, Miriam Felton, recently returned to Denver for a couple days to teach at local yarn and fabric store Fancy Tiger. Though I wasn’t able to take either of her Saturday classes in Triangular Shawl Shapes or Fixing Lace Mistakes, I was able to see her Friday night at her book signing and trunk show, where she had a large display of finished projects knit from her patterns.

I’m not a prolific knitter by any means and Miriam’s patterns are far beyond my ken, but it was a treat to see her pattern samples with beautiful detailing and lace work. Wearing an adorable dress she made herself, Miriam sat and knit while chatting yarn, patterns, and reality TV with her fans and friends. My favorite part of the night was actually getting to meet Miriam. While I am so lucky in my role as Craftsy Instructor Liaison to work with all our instructors day in and day out, I don’t always get the chance to meet them. Meeting Miriam and learning more about her was a treat!

For those of you who weren’t able to take Miriam’s classes at Fancy Tiger, don’t despair. Her Craftsy class, Lace Shawl Design, is available wherever you are, whenever you want it, so you can have Miriam knitting along with you in your own living room.
