Cake Decorators: Let’s See What You’ve Learned!

Posted by on Jun 29, 2012 in Cake Decorating, Contests & Giveaways | Comments

Here at Craftsy, we’re constantly eager to see what students are learning from their classes. Cake decorators, here’s your chance to show us! We’re announcing a brand new contest, “We Want To See What You Have Learned!”

Here’s how you can participate:

1. Upload a cake decorating project that shows off the skills you learned in any cake decorating class on Craftsy by July 18.

2. When you are adding your project, make sure to start the project title with “I learned” so we know it’s an entry for this contest. Also be sure to select “Craftsy Course” under the Pattern/Instructions Details section, then select the course you took to learn the technique -  this tells us and other Craftsy members where you got your inspiration!

3. If you haven’t taken a cake decorating class on Craftsy yet, you can sign up for any of the following classes for 25% off and enter your class projects in the contest!
Topsy-Turvy Cake Construction with Richard Ruskell
Modern Piping with Joshua John Russell
Advanced Fondant Techniques with Marina Sousa
Handcrafted Sugar Flowers with Jacqueline Butler
Decadent Chocolate Cakes with Alice Medrich

The deadline to upload your project is July 18 and the project with the most hearts by July 31 wins! The winner will be announced on August 3, and will receive a super special prize package: an autographed copy of Alice Medrich’s book, Sinfully Easy Delicious Desserts, an Ateco revolving cake stand, and an Ateco 14-piece cake decorating set!

If you’re looking for some inspiration for your projects, check out the projects section on Craftsy and take a look at the cake decorating projects created by other Craftsy members.

Projects will be promoted on the I (Heart) Cake Decorating club page on Facebook. You can get a head start and some extra hearts by promoting your project on your own social sites to friends and family members! Remember, the decorator who earns the most hearts on their project by July 31 wins that snazzy prize package. Happy cake decorating!

  1. Hi,

I already uploaded a project based on Ms. Jacqueline Butler’s class a while ago. Can I still have it entered by just editing it by adding the “I learned” phrase? Thank you!

    1. Megan says:

      Hi Malati,

Sure, that would be a great entry!

      My best,
      Megan

    2. Megan says:

      Hi Malati,

Just one more thing, the hearts that you received on your project before this competition unfortunately will not count, but you are still welcome to use the same project as your entry!

Let me know if you have any more questions,
      Megan
